Ubisoft is a major video game publisher based in France. They have their presence with 25 studios in seventeen different countries. They are the third largest independent game publisher in Europe and also the third largest in the United States. The largest development studio is Ubisoft Montrea. They currently employ around 1,700 people. The list talks about the top ten video games released by Ubisoft. I am sure you will have played each of the following video games. 10. BEYOND GOOD & EVIL
Beyond Good & Evil is an action-adventure game released by Ubisoft in late 2003. The game focuses on the adventures of an investigative reporter & martial artist Jade, who works for a resistance movement to unveil a global alien conspiracy. The player will guide Jade and her allies through their adventure, solve various puzzles, fight menacing enemies and will obtain photographic evidence through investigation to prove the conspiracy. The game has been critically acclaimed and was nominated for “Game of the Year” award in 2004 at the Game Developers Choice Awards.
9. FAR CRY 2
Far Cry 2 is a first person shooter game published by Ubisoft in the year 2008. Although the game is a sequel to Far Cry, it has only a few similarities with the original game as Ubisoft published the second part only. The game features new characters and a style of gameplay that allows the players more freedom to explore the vast African landscapes. The game is set in a central African state that has fallen to anarchy and civil war. The story follows a mercenary’s long pursuit of a notorious gun runner named “The Jackal”. The game sold 2.9 million copies just four months after its release.
8. TOM CLANCY’S GHOST RECON: FUTURE SOLDIER
Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier was released by Ubisoft in May 2012 for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. The game falls into the third person shooting genre with lots of other variations to keep the players more involved in the game. It includes alternative first person shooting for snipers, using tactical battle strategies to assassinate prime targets, controlling drones to overcome overwhelming odds and many other variations that will give even the best of players a significant challenge.
7. I AM ALIVE
I Am Alive is a survival horror video game developed and published by Ubisoft which was released in March 2012 for the Xbox live Arcade, followed by the Playstation Network release in April 2012. The game focuses on facing the permanent insecurity of a now decaying and hazardous world, and humanity’s darkest inclinations. The game uses a third person perspective for navigation and a first person perspective for aiming and shooting. The players can use various tactics such as stealth kills with bows or quick kills with machete’s or even plain bluff or intimidation to survive.
Wheelman is a driving game published by Ubisoft and released in March 2006. The main character, Milo Burik, is an undercover agent whose assignment is to work along with a gang in Barcelona planning the biggest heist of their career. He turns out to be one of the most effective weapons in the business. The game boasts over 100 storyline plus side missions and is based in an open world modeled after Barcelona. While most of the missions are driving oriented, there are some missions that must be completed on foot as well. The player may choose from a wide variety of artillery that assists in completing a mission.
5. TOM CLANCY’S H.A.W.X 2
The game follows the conventional arcade action fighting style and it has been developed and published by Ubisoft in September 2010. The game is the sequel to Tom Clancy’s H.A.W.X, released in 2009. In this sequel, the H.A.W.X squadron is sent to the Middle East where a high level of violence is being registered. The players will control three groups: one American, one British and one Russian, each with its own plots and supporting characters. There will also be references to other characters in the Tom Clancy universe.
4. PRINCE OF PERSIA: THE TWO THRONES
Prince of Persia: the two thrones is an action adventure game developed and published by Ubisoft in December 2010. Following Warrior Within, where the Prince kills the Dahaka, The Two Thrones is the closing chapter in the Sands of Time saga. The Two Thrones opens with the Prince when he is all set to sail to Babylon’s port.
3. TOM CLANCY’S SPLINTER CELL CONVICTION
It is an action-adventure video game based on stealth. It is developed by Ubisoft Montreal. The game is obviously a part of the splinter cell series. There are various different gameplay features that were introduced to this game. One of the famous ones include the ‘mark and execute’ feature. You can mark enemies or any particular target and then shoot it as they burst through a door etc. You can also interrogate characters in real time, which is something I enjoyed a lot. The game was released on the 13th April, 2010.
2. PRINCE OF PERSIA: THE FORGOTTEN SANDS
This is a multi-platform video game. It was released on the 18th May, 2010. This game marks the return of the story that started with The Sands of Time. This story is concluded by Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones. The game takes place in the seven year gap; the gap between The Sands of Time and Warrior Within. The character that is the prince is supposed to be a cross of the models in the aforementioned installments. Yuri Lowenthal voices the Prince as usual. The game received positive reviews on PS3, XBox and PC. The level design was complex and was given praise along with the sound and graphics of the entire game. The game keeps you hooked for a long time.
1. ASSASSIN’S CREED II
The first place is taken by a historical action-adventure stealth video game. The game is the second installment of the Assassin’s Creed series. The story is set in the 21st century. This particular game was met with widespread acclaim and it aggregated a score of 91% for PS3 and an 86% for xBox and PC. The emphasis on open-world exploration and interaction received a lot of praise from the critics and gamers worldwide. The mission variety was greater than the previous version of the game and the combat mechanics were significantly enhanced as well. Assassin’s Creed II is well worth every dime you spend.
