The Titanic itself is a remake. The original dates from 1953
made by Jean Negulesco. That movie also includes a love story and a ‘bad guy’.

The departed does not belong on this list because, as stated it is a remake, and the original Infernal Affairs is far superior in virtually all aspects; character development, cinematography, everything.

Interesting list, but you missed out some very important choices, such as the whole original star wars trilogy (4,5,6)
and a LOT of good classics.

Unfortunately, Back to the Future wasn’t the first to introduce time travel. I think it was The Time Machine in 1960 to introduce it.
