10. SANIA MIRZA
She was born on the 15th November of 1986 in Bombay, India while she currently lives in Hyderabad. She is a famous tennis star from India known for her powerful forehand ground strokes. She has held the first rank for singles and doubles in India since the year 2003. She happens to be the first tennis player from India to cross the USD $ 1 million earning mark. Sania Mirza is the first Indian tennis star to win a WTA Tour and the third to win a Grand Slam. She also won the 2012 French Open – Mixed Doubles Event which became her second Grand Slam title.
9. SABINE LISICKI
She was born on the 22nd September of 1989 in Troisdorf, West Germany and currently lives in Bradenton, Florida, United States. She was won three WTA singles tournaments and one doubles tournament. She received the highest rank of her career on the 21st May of 2012 that is 12. She entered the top 100 of the world in 2011. The year 2010 was not all that well for her because of her injuries and she happens to be the second tennis player in the history of this sport to have entered the semifinals while being a part of the tournament on a wildcard.
8. MARTINA HINGIS
Martina Hingis was born on the 30th September of 1980 in Kosice, Czechoslovakia. She current lives in Hurden, Switzerland. She has spent 209 weeks as the world’s number 1. Martina has won five Grand Slam Singles titles while she has won nine Grand Slam Doubles titles. She contributed greatly to the youngest-ever records before her ligament injuries. She returned to the WTA tour in the year 2006 after extensive surgeries and climbed to number six straightaway. She won three singles titles on her way up. She announced her retirement from tennis on the 1st November of 2007.
7. DANIELA HANTUCHOVA
Daniela was born on the 23rd April of 1983 in Poprad, Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and currently lives in Monte Carlo, Monaco. Her professional tennis career started in the year 1999 and three years later she hit the limelight with her first Tier I tournament. She ended up within the top 10 that year. She is ranked on the 35th number when it comes to singles. Larri Passos is her coach currently. In the year 2005 she became the fifth female tennis player to have won the mixed doubles titles in four Grand Slam tournaments.
6. OLGA POUTCHKOVA
Olga was born on the 27th September of 1987 in Moscow, USSR (Russia). She currently lives in Miami Shores, United States. Her professional career started in the year 2002. She also happens to be a model. In the year 2006, she made her WTA Tour main draw debut. Her first WTA Tour main draw win was in Birmingham. She was enlisted in the top 100 in the year 2006 and the highest ever rank achieved by her was 32; that was on the 17th June of 2007.
