Kings Island is a 364-acre amusement park located in Mason, Ohio. The park was opened in 1972 by Taft Broadcasting Company. It is now owned by Cedar Fair Entertainment Company. Kings Island is the most visited seasonal amusement park in the U.S. with an estimated 3,000,000 visitors in 2009. The park offers 80 amazing rides, shows and attractions. Kings Island has won Amusement Today’s Golden Ticket Award for having the “Best Kids’ Area” in the world for nine consecutive years (2001–2010). In 1982 Kings Island held its first Winterfest, a Christmas-time holiday event. The winterfest offers a holiday-themed train ride, Grand Carousel, hayrides, and the Enchanted Voyage, a water based dark ride along with special shops and restaurants. Silver Dollar City is a theme park in the state of Missouri. It is owned by the Herschend Family Entertainment Corporation. An Old Time Christmas (November – December) is a traditional holiday Christmas Celebration with special shows, foods, and other attractions. This year the park is decorated with nearly 4 million Christmas lights and a five-story special effects Christmas tree. It is celebrating Christmas season along with the visitors from 6th November to 30th December. Silver Dollar City features 4 million lights, the Christmas on Main Street tree-lighting presentation, the Gifts of Christmas Holiday Lights parade, musical performances, and a presentation of “A Christmas Carol.” Santa holds court in Kringle’s Krossing. Six Flags Discovery Kingdom , formerly Six Flags Marine World , Marine World , The New Marine World Theme Park , and Marine World Africa USA , is an animal theme park located in Vallejo, California. Christmas was celebrated in the park for the first time in 2007. Holiday in The Park features Santa Claus, holiday themed shows, and other seasonal treats. Discovery Kingdom also featured the world’s largest Christmas tree as part of the celebration in 2007. The tree was 125 feet (38 m) tall and had a diameter of 4 feet (1.2 m). Every year Holiday in the Park starts the day after Thanksgiving. This year it started on Friday, November 26 and will run on select days until January 2, 2011. Regardless of the temperature, there will be snow at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom on Blitzen’s Wonderland Mountain this Christmas.
