10. The Secret World – Win, Xbox 360

Funcom’s newest project, The Secret World will unveil in the year 2011. Ragnar Tornquist, the man behind The Longest Journey and Dreamfall is coming this time with The Secret World. The game is multiplatform and will run on Xbox 360, Windows and PlayStation 3 (PS3). The gameplay lacks levels and is based entirely on players skills. The characters are built according to the playing skill of the player. Also, the player characters will be customizable to a large degree, particularly in their choice of clothing, weapons (which range from shotguns to swords and can be customized and upgraded), and the supernatural powers they acquire. The game’s pre-production started in 2002 but has been facing delays firstly due the transfer of most of the working team to the development of Dreamfall and then due to the reduction of 20% of its staff in 2009, resulting in “significant delay” for the release of The Secret World. 9. Tomb Raider (2011 video game) – Win, PS3, Xbox 360
Ninth in the series of Tomb Raider, the game is one of the most awaited upcoming games. Tomb Raider is an open-world action-adventure video game. Developed by Crystal Dynamics, the game is expected to release in the last quarter of 2011, most probably near Christmas. It is a single player game designed for PlayStation 3 (PS3), Xbox 360 and Windows. The lead of the game, Lara Croft is in search of lost relics. The 21 year old girl performs journeys to an island off the coast of Japan and is strangled in by unforeseen storm leaving Croft separated from any other survivors. This puts her endurance and physical strength to test. This year the game is expected to get a Mature 17+ rating in the United States. Based on the game is the famous hollywood film, Tomb Raider in which the role of Lara Croft is beautifully played by Angelina Julie. The game will look somewhat like the following trailer.
8. Hitman 5 – Xbox 360, Win, PS3
The latest and 5th version of the famous game, Hitman is expected to come out in stores around Christmas 2011. This time the game is taking agent 47 in whole new direction. He will appear as a protagonist. The developer of the game, the IO Community has confirmed that the game will not follow a story based on the movie.
7. Max Payne 3 – Xbox 360, Win, PS3

Rockstar Vancouver, the developer of the award winning PS2, Xbox 360 and Wii based game, Bully, is coming this time with Max Payne 3 after the success of the first two parts of the series. The game is famous for it’s bullet time mode where the bullet time is slowed down to such an extent that it could be seen with naked eye. According to Rockstar’s Sam Houser, they are starting a new chapter of Max’s life with the game. “This is Max as we’ve never seen him before, a few years older, more world-weary and cynical than ever.” Since the last game, the press release states Max has left New York behind and has “drifted from bad to worse.” The game is sequel to Max Payne a shooter video game which was released in the year 2001. It is expected to release in the year 2011.
6. Mortal Kombat 9 – Xbox 360, Win, PS3

Ninth installment of the famous fighting series, Mortal Kombat has an announced April 19th, 2011 release on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 systems. The game is developed by NetherRealm Studios (formerly known as WB Games Chicago and Midway Games Chicago). Mortal Kombat is the first title in the series to include 3D graphics with gameplay solely on the 2D plane. The game is simple yet interesting, successfully targeting the casual players. Developer Ed Boon describes the game as retake of the events of the original first three Mortal Kombat games (MK, MK II, and MK3).

The Raiden from back then gets a message and he doesn’t know what’s going on, but he knows something bad’s going to happen, and the game spans Mortal Kombat 1, 2, and 3, retelling the story with an enlightened Raiden, and he’s changing the course of things, so everything you’ve seen happen before – Liu Kang winning, the guys turning into cybernetic ninjas, are changed around, so you might see a character become cybernetic who wasn’t before, and so you see a different version [of events].
It is the first M-rated Mortal Kombat game to be developed for the seventh generation of consoles. The game will be available in three different editions: “The Standard Edition”, “The Kollector’s Edition”, and “The Tournament Edition” where the Standard Edition consist of a copy of Mortal Kombat, The Kollector’s Edition consists of: a copy of Mortal Kombat, Sub-Zero and Scorpion figurines, an art book, dubbed a “Mortal Kombat Klassic costume” and a downloadable content skin, and The Tournament Edition is the same as the Kollector’s Edition but instead of having figurines and an art book, it consists of a fight stick controller.
